Love Lamps stop motion animation

by admin on Feb.09, 2010, under Video

Short film about 2 lamps that fall in love. Although not very apparent, without love the lamp is destructive. Once the lamp finds love, he becomes subdued. This was my first attempt at a stop motion short. This was my “test reel” to see if I could animate a short film ala Ray Harryausen. My goal prior to this film was to create a stop motion dino picture like One Million Years BC, or Valley of Gwangi. See “Dino Dreams” for full contact dinosaur stop motion action. This one took a couple months to complete. I’m very happy with the results.

Thus studies on digital archives of those subjects are widely conducted nowadays in Japanese traditional performing arts and especially abuki. This form of art has been contriving and changing its style according to the shifts in stage sets, lighting, and stage form. Some parts of Kabuki production have been through significant changes, along with the long perpetuated parts. Kabuki is still developing day by day, and the most recent change is evident on a UPER kabukistage.
